I found the back ground Mount Rushmore area interesting for a bit because it shows how films can use fake backgrounds or did before CGI to place actors in places they weren't which makes a good selfie location for visitors too. there were a lot of screens and film highlights running but much of that could of been more easily watched at home doing your own research. There were a few relics and clothing items but not nearly enough for what I personally expected. Going through the rest of the "museum" it was film themes if they hit upon something you happened to have interest in like me with the Godfather, it was good, if not you could move through fairly fast. This was probably one of my two favorite parts and it had little to do with film and more about the design. on the top floor there is the metallic sphere seating area with a tremendous view of Hollywood, can even see the Hollywood sign in the distance and I remembered watching an Awards show from here the year they had a limited audience.

I dunno I waited two years since seeing it open and I want to say Tom Hanks was involved in an opening tv special on the museum if I recall and when I watched that special I could not wait to see this place.

I'm wondering if all the best movie items and history is on display at other museums scattered across the LA area so this place got stuck with some sort of film theme areas. of the behind-the-scenes process that happens. This exhibit gave me an even deeper appreciation of the studio's works and there were descriptions/stories/etc. If an exhibit is being shown and you're interested then it's definitely worth going! It definitely was one of my favorite experiences and if they bring the Hayao Miyazaki exhibit back, I recommend going. If it wasn't for the exhibit itself, my friends and I wouldn't have gone since we weren't interested in the subject matter/other things being showcased at the time. We also went to the top floor/terrace and it was a beautiful view! We got to overlook and see a bit of downtown LA and we unfortunately couldn't visit the Griffith tower observatory, but this was perfect for a nice scenery outdoors and with way less walking/climbing. Definitely recommend booking tickets in advance regardless of which exhibit you are there to see. We could take photos outside of the exhibit since there was a cute display/entry wall piece. We couldn't take any photos/videos inside of the exhibit which was a shame since there were a lot of beautiful pieces, but we understood and respected it to maintain the quality of the pieces inside.
It was temporary so I'm glad we were able to visit and see it while we could. My friends and I went here for the Hayao Miyazaki Exhibit.
